The Africa Women For Climate Change (AWCC) is a non-governmental organization in Kenya run by women and youth from diverse backgrounds, working closely with local communities. Our primary objective is to enhance health and living conditions in underprivileged communities by fostering self-reliance and responsibility, providing menstrual hygiene support and awareness, building capacity, establishing sustainable development initiatives, and promoting resource management.
AWCC aims to guide young people toward a better environment through climate change mitigation and adaptation within communities. Our boys' inclusion programs demonstrate our commitment to involving all youth, regardless of gender. We educate locals on climate change awareness, environmental impacts and aspects, tree growing activities, hygiene, water and sanitation, and the importance of energy saving. We also highlight the negative effects of environmental degradation, such as tree cutting for charcoal burning and water scarcity, which are often driven by the need to sustain livelihoods.
